A. Basic Information
•Name - Jason
•Age/ Gender - 24 Male
•Time zone - EST
•Occupation - College Professor
•Tell us a little about yourself - graduated last year from Duke with my PHd in History. I am currently teaching at the University of Florida. Besides WoW my only hobby is working out. I swim and run daily. I compete in 4-5 triathlons a year . Married and have 3 kids.
•How long have you played WoW - Since beta was released.
•Total time on this character - 145 days
•Do you intend to play long term - Yes, no plan on stopping anytime soon.
B. System Information
•What are your system specs - Dual Quad Core Xeon 2.4s, 8GB RAM, Dual Nvidea 9800 GTXs. Pretty new box.
•Do you have a mic - Yes
•Do you have any objections to speaking on vent when needed - Not at all
•Do you have any disconnection problem at all - No thank god. I dont know how people play like that. I would have to punch the monor.
•Post a speed test from
http://www.speedtest.net/
(Use the Los Angeles test server)
•Post a ping test from
http://www.pingtest.net/
(Use the Los Angeles test server)
For some reason this keep failing. I opened up all theorts on my firewall but im getting error ill. Looking from the first test it appears tbe 10ms.
•Average Latency while raiding? 165-80ms
•Average FPS in raid during a boss? 45+
C. Raiding and Character information
1. Character Name | Spec | Class | Race (Horde Race upon acceptance)
Aurryn - 18/53/0 Holy Priest Undead
2. Are you a clicker? Be honest
Yes, but for a specific reason. I purchased a Razr Naga. Totally worth every penny. I have each of the 12 buttons bound to cast-over macrossfor grid so the only thing i really use my keyboard for is strafing.
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-naga/
3. Are you exalted with Sons of Hodir?
Yes.
4. What is your raiding experience Pre-BC? In BC? WoTLK? Specify if in a leadership role.
Vanilla WoW - Multiple clears of all content including Kel'Thuzad, C'Thun, aal of the world bosses, and helped gild complete the chain to open the gates for AQ.
BC- Multiple clears of all content including M'uru and KJ pre 3.0 nurf bat.
WOLK - All content void 0 Watcher Yogg and Heroic Anub hard mode.
5. Provide an armory link to your character and a wowhead link to your normal raiding spec.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Zangarmarsh&n=Aurryn
6. You will need lots of consumables to keep up with the pace during progression raids. Do you have the will and time to put in enough effort to keep an adequate amount?
Yes. Consumables today are nothing compared to what they use to be so any one that complains really shouldn't be apping to a guild of your level. I always keep multiple spell power, int, and mp5 flasks on me which i change depending upon the encounter. Always have food with buffs for haste and spell power on me. Normally never have less then 30 mana and health pots on me as well.
7. Will you come to a progression raid having already read any available information relevant to encounters?
Yes. WHy wipe and waste time when you can read and watch videos ahead of time or work out the mechanics of a fight on the PTR.
8. What do you think about beginning raids early and staying beyond the required raid times to down new content?
I have no objections. I play this game to raid and want to be back in a guild thats cutting the front lines of progression.
9. Post a WWS report / Wow Meter Online of a few recent raids in your guild. If your guild does not run these, post a screenshot(s) of your recount for some boss encounters. (DO NOT LEAVE THIS OUT)
http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat/8458272#healingout
10. Post a screenshot of your UI while in a raid enviroment (in combat). (Give a list of any relevant addons not shown.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcarnjngX8A
Sadly our server is down yet again and I dont have a newer 25 man one. My UI is pretty close to this however grid expands to 5 groups and fills up the area between my icons. UI is a little cleaner now but not much. Need to update it some, but just figured id wait until we are closer to the next patch. ( Sorry about the lack of widescreen lol. Was testing something when we made that video.)
D. Dual Spec
1. What is your secondary spec?
Shadow - 13/0/58
2. Are you able to play it as well as your main spec?
Yes. Was shadow for a good portion of Ulduar and prior. When we hit up TOGC we wanted to run it with only 5 healers so I switched over. Gearing would be needed on a couple slots but besides that the answer is yes.
3. Are you willing to change your main spec and/or secondary spec for guild needs? Yes. I am very flexible and do not mind swapping back and forth at all.
E. Professions
1. What are your 2 professions? if they are not maxed to the level of profession perks, why not?
Enchanting - 440. Releveling cause I had Inscription while I was playing on my shaman.
Jewelcrafting - 450
2. If you have a gathering profession, what is stopping you from dropping it for a profession that benefits your stats more?
N/A
F. Other Questions
1. What guild are you currently in? Who is/was the GM? Include their website.
MoReMyTh - Juraveil -
www.moremyth.org
2. Why are you leaving your current guild?
I had stopped playing the game back in May and gave up my account because my guild had slo0wly fell apart. Couple firends convinced me 2 weeks later to come back so I finished leveling Aurryn on Zangarmarsh and have been raiding with them. Sick and tired of beign on a dead end server in a semi-casual guild. Previously I had been a member of Nighcrawlers on Durotar who became Illumination on Turalyon. When illumination called it quits some of us went ot might others went to Fusion.
3. Do you play actively outside of raiding?
Yes. I enjoy leveling alts, pvping with a group, running 5 mans for shits and giggles, and farming.
4. Are you able to take and improve upon harsh criticism?
Yes. I never have and never will claim the be the best priest on any server. I am ALWAYS striving to work on improving both my play skill and my toon by min/maxing. Criticism is a good thing unless your skin is to thin .
5. There will be Bench time. Everyone will have to sit at one point in time or another. Are you okay with this?
Yes. No one enjoys it but everyone understands some fights require X composition while others require Y.
6. Why are you interested in joining CUTIES ONLY? do you currently know anyone in CUTIES?
Been looking around and hearing good things about you guys from a few friends I have on the server. Also really enjoy the PTR and been chacking out your kick ass videos
7. What are the other guilds you applied to? any particular reason why you are shopping for multiple guilds? keep in mind we do have very good contacts in other guilds, your omission on certain information may be held against you.
At this time I have not applied to any other guild. I have looked at 3-4 but would prefer to deal with one guild at a time.
8. If your application is accepted. What kind of raider can we expect you to be? Give a brief description of your attitude towards raiding in both progression and farm content. Does your level of play decline during the farm period?
I am the type of person that always gives 100%. I love raiding and it is what keeps me interested in this game. Whether its a first kill or going back to Sunwell for shits and giggles when people or drunk on vent I always do my best. I expect the same from everyone else. I feel that it is my responsibility to always work and strive to maintain my raid spot. I feel that I have 24 people counting on me to do my job just like expect them to do theirs to the best of their ability.
9. How can we contact you outside of the game? AIM, Email, etc...
Email:
AIM:
Thank you for taking the time to review my application.

Looks like I deleted the list of addons by accident:
Grid, Clique, PoM Tracker, Recount, xperl, icehudd, DBM.
Also latency is normally 120 not 10 LOL sorry about that.

Techno's fine if it's not terrible and fits the fight. I can only think of one situation in which rap is appropriate. I personally mix my genres when making videos (I even busted out Act on Instinct from the first C&C game for Flame Leviathan).

Ive never actually been golfing. I cant stand to watch it on TV so ive never wanted to go. Id rather watch classic reruns fo bowling on ESPN then watch golf, it slowly kills me inside.
I probably could if I worked at it but im not a sprinter
. Running is honestly my least favorite thing out of the three parts of the triathlon. I swam competitivly through high school and college and biking isnt as demanding as running. Many people thing long distance runners just run. Athletes that run triathlong or marathons condition totally different then sprinters. Most of the athletes that run triathlons in the olympics barely break 4 minutes. The last mini iron man I did in Phoenix i think the top place in my age group was around 4:20 pace. My average mile normally fluctuates betwee 545 and 630. I also train at a disadvantage as Florida is flatter olsen twins and when I travel up north for a race the terrain fucks me over.

So explain this to me. How is having macros on your mouse justifying being inefficient with your binds?
I understand you have additional keys on your mouse to bind things to (more mouseover macros w/e), but you still have to move your mouse on your screen to a target on grid, select it, move your mouse over to an ability click it to use it, as opposed to the old fashion select with your mouse and hitting a key on your keyboard for that ability. You are pretty much using 1 hand for 2 actions where you would be more efficient to use 2 hands.
All this is evident in your video, along with excessive backpedaling.

I just noticed that you graduated from Duke. I turned down a partial scholarship from there and I still know few ppl that graduated from there/currently attending their undergrad. Just out of curiosity what did you do your history dissertation for your PhD on?
