A. Basic Information

Name? Mark
Age? Gender? 23M
Time zone? GMT
Occupation? Water and Wasterwater Operator
Tell us a little about yourself. Long time gaming nerd, settling into my career and I'm in a relationship coming up on 4 years so I'm not that guy who enters college and suddenly stops playing.
How long have you played WoW? Picked up the game a few months after release, was into raiding before the release of BWL.
Total time on this character? As this has only been my main for WoTLK I only have 95 days played, my original main a fury warrior recently hit 200 days.
Do you intend to play long term? I fully intend to raid for all of 2010, I'm entering a post secondary program in 2011 that doesn't currently have a schedule released so I cannot speak to my availability at that time.

B. System Information

What are your system specs? AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+, 2.51 ghz, 2gb ram. Please note I am in a position that if my computer is preventing me from raiding at a top end level I can and will go buy replace parts / computer immediately.
Do you have a mic? Yes
Do you have any objections to speaking on vent when needed? None at all
Do you have any disconnection problem at all? Have only had 1 night in the past 3 years where my net hindered my raiding in any capacity.
Post a speed test from http://www.speedtest.net/ (Use the Dallas test server)

Post a ping test from http://www.pingtest.net/ (Use the Dallas test server)

Average Latency while raiding? On previous servers it has been in the 200 range.
Average FPS in raid during a boss? I've never actually taken the time to check my fps during an encounter. Besides aoe'ing whelps at onyxia I have no fps issues.

C. Raiding and Character information

1. Character Name | Spec | Class | Race (Horde Race upon acceptance)
Bizznacular / Ret / Paladin / Blood Elf (wooo the choices)
2. Are you a clicker? Be honest
On select abilities that are on cooldowns longer then one min, ie. wing.
3. Are you exalted with Sons of Hodir?
Yes it was one of the first things I did on this character.
4. What is your raiding experience Pre-BC? In BC? WoTLK? Specify the guilds you were in/leadership role/responsibility.
Pre-BC - Cleared all content in MC, BWL, and up to twins in AQ 40, due to a desire to play with rl friends I took a step back from hardcore raiding and plugged away at the highest level of content we were able to do with a group of ~8 friends in one guild. I have been an officer in a few smaller guilds but never pushed for that position in larger guilds.
BC - Started off this xpac very slowly as I was in a small guild with rl friends. Shortly before Mount Hyjal was released I made the decision to pursue raiding more seriously and with another friend joined Paradigm Shift on Cho'gall. With this guild I saw all of hyjal, bt, and 3/6 pre-nerf in sunwell. We had recruitment issues as Cho'gall was 8+:1 horde to alliance and once the nerfs were announced the guild stopped raiding until WoTLK.
WoTLK - Completed Naxx and 3 drakes OS with Paradigm Shift but a lack of commitment from guild leadership lead me to look for a new guild. I spent a short amount of time with a group I cant recall the name off at this point, that guild broke when ~6 officers and vetrans left to join V A N Q U I S H when they relocated from Cho'gall. That is when I joined Genesis for their first General Vezax hardmode kill. I was able to see all content beside the last 3 bosses of Heroic ICC with Genesis including most first kills accomplished by the guild.
5. Provide an armory link to your character and a wowhead link to your normal raiding spec.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Magtheridon&cn=Bizznacular
I am currently specced and glyphed for a normal raid day, if you would like a wowhead link in addition to this please let me know and I will get it for you asap.
6. You will need lots of consumables to keep up with the pace during progression raids. Do you have the will and time to put in enough effort to keep an adequate amount?
I've been raiding progression content for a long time now, and especially with Genesis developed a good habit of always having a stockpile of speed pots / flasks.
7. Will you come to a progression raid having already read any available information relevant to encounters?
I feel it is the responsibility of every raider to read up on the new content, it shouldn't be the responsibility of the guild officers or raid leaders to explain every ability to you over vent.

8. What do you think about beginning raids early and staying beyond the required raid times to down new content?
I have no issues with starting a raid early (assuming I can get there in time from work) or staying late. On occasion we may be asked to raid on an off night and that wouldn't be an issue most of the time.
9. Post a WWS report / Wow Meter Online / World of Logs of a few recent raids in your guild.  If your guild does not run these, post a screenshot(s) of your recount for some boss encounters. (DO NOT LEAVE THIS OUT)
http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/19156/
Here is a link to our most recent logs, please note that on March 3/2010 I was playing Tatsumasa as he was forced to afk that night and was the individual picked to complete the first shadowmourne.
10. Post a screenshot of your UI while in a raid enviroment (in combat). (Give a list of any relevant addons not shown.)
IMG]http://i42.tinypic.com/2s6oepx.jpg[/IMG]
Not shown are omen and DVE. I've had my UI ripped apart by a few people now and understand it is quite basic. That said it works for me, but if anyone can recommend a way for me to improve things I will happily listen and try it out.

D. Dual Spec

1. What is your secondary spec? Currently prot, mix of 245/264 gear. Same goes for holy set.

2. Are you able to play it as well as your main spec?
Honestly no, the thing I've become best at in my years of playing wow is the role of melee dps. I can learn things quickly but at this time I would not claim to be ready for ICC hardmodes as offspec.

3. Are you willing to change your main spec and/or secondary spec for guild needs?
I will happily work into any role required of a ret paladin, but as mentioned above my skill is primarily in the role of a melee dps as it is the role I have filled from day 1.

E. Professions

1. What are your 2 professions? if they are not maxed to the level of profession perks, why not?
JC / Alchemy both are 450.
2. If you have a gathering profession/non-optimal race, what is stopping you from changing it to benefit you more?

F. Other Questions

1. What guild are you currently in? Who is/was the GM? Include their website.
Genesis, GM is Carisana. www.guild-genesis.org

2. Why are you leaving your current guild?
Unfortunately Carisana has switched us to a casual raiding guild from this point on, he was unable to fill raids in the way a US top 40 guild should be able to with a combination of afks and constant inflow of recruits. (Damn you Starfreak for making us use Phazon since you left.)
3. Do you play actively outside of raiding?
My favorite thing to do outside of a raid on my main is raid on an alt, it is the part of the game I enjoy the most and have seen nearly as much content on my alt hunter as I have on my main.
4. Are you able to take and improve upon harsh criticism?
Carisana loved to crack the whip like few others I've met since I began playing wow. That said I think he would agree I took every bit of criticism and attempted to improve upon it, I went as far as talking to him after a raid well I was on trial to see what steps need to be taken to make the transition to member.
5. There will be Bench time.  Everyone will have to sit at one point in time or another. Are you okay with this?
Although I will rarely if ever be happy to sit on the bench I have been raiding long enough to understand that few people if any will be in every raid for every boss. Especially with new content it may call for raid stacking of certain classes, and if I am the odd man out on those nights I accept that as part of being in a guild of this level.

6. Why are you interested in joining CUTIES ONLY? do you currently know anyone in CUTIES?
Starfreak is the only person I can name off the top of my head, I enjoyed raiding with him back when he was with Genesis and as a result I looked him up shortly after hearing the news of Genesis's plan to stop raiding.
7. What are the other guilds you applied to? any particular reason why you are shopping for multiple guilds? keep in mind we do have very good contacts in other guilds, your omission on certain information may be held against you.
I posted an app with Bad News Bears on destromath as I have a large number of rl friends currently on that server. Nothing came of this app.
8. If your application is accepted. What kind of raider can we expect you to be? Give a brief description of your attitude towards raiding in both progression and farm content. Does your level of play decline during the farm period?
Throughout my wow career I've always wanted to be apart of the first kills, I really enjoy being in the screenshots after a new boss is killed. I strive to improve myself and enjoy competition. I feel I greatly improved as a ret paladin in Genesis due to the fact I had direct competition in Tatsumasa each night. I try to bring my best to a raid each and every night, this includes farm content. I'm very excited for the possibility of raiding with Bluedeep as he has proven on the dps boards that he can play at a level few others can match. I come prepared for raids and as mentioned before accept and thrive under criticism, if people can point out where/how I can improve then I do my best to accomplish that.

9. How can we contact you outside of the game? AIM, Email, etc...
My email is markwille779@msn.com

Would like to take this time to say thanks for reading this app, I look forward to hearing back from you.

Your gear is great. You have ICC hard mode experience.

Why not craft the 264 leather expertise/crit boots? They would be a huge DPS upgrade for you.

Why Alchemy? BS would provide more raw DPS and Engi would provide more utility.

Have you ever tried out CLCRet or SHIT? I know a lot of people think it's crutch but it's extremely helpful in maximizing your rotation. Watching one cooldown versus five-six also allows you to put more of your attention on the encounter.

Again, so sad to hear about Genesis' recent raiding change.  But yes, I raided with Bizz for a several months throughout most of Ulduar progression and all of ToGC progression.  His attendance was very consistent from when he joined and was always trying to be competitive on the dps charts.  An overall good guy, knows when to speak up and when to shut up (lol, like that time on Anub :p) and excellent awareness; usually only made mistakes once and then never again.

Bluedeep will probably post a reply tearing you apart though, so be prepared for a strict analysis from him.

edit: too late, already did

I've had alchemy since level 60, although BS is a direct upgrade over it the small difference wasn't enough to make me change it as my warrior has that profession and I have always tried to keep max level professions of anything I might need. Warrior has BS / Enchanting, hunter is JC / inscription, DK is JC/BS on a different server, mage has tailoring + something I dont really play it much anymore.
I have never tried out a mod to tell me what part of the rotation to use next but from what you put in another rets app it has me interested in trying it out to see if I can improve with it. Even if it's 50 dps its an improvement.
As for the boots I was supposed to be picking up the next set of 277 boots from Deathwhisper and because of that Carisana said I should just hold off on crafting anything.
I do have another 264 token sitting in my bags from our last raid on monday, waiting to see what VoA drops this week so I dont waste a token on pants then see them drop.

On a side note, if it becomes a make or break thing I would drop alchemy for BS. 40 str is clearly better then the 80 ap I currently gain but I do enjoy 2 hour flasks and proccing gems.

Picked up 277 Polar Bear Claw Bracers today, and I'll be making the boots bluedeep mentioned soon I think. Need to check rawr if its better to make the leather boots and use my current ring or switch to the 264 expertise ring I have and go with plate crafted boots.

Okay I had an opportunity to make the Footpads of Impending Death. Realize you guys are busy, but would appreciate an idea of what's going on so I can decide what the next move may be. Thanks

I'll work on getting  you a response.

As is, Rets do great damage and it may prove useful to have another.  If Starfreak says you're good I'll take his word on it, I'll reconfirm Bluedeep's opinion and I'll see what the verdict is.

Also, if possible, get us some new parses.

I don't have any major reservations beyond Alchemy, but it's really a minor increase. I recently went from BS => Engi, and I have to say that I'd highly recommend it. It's higher single target DPS than BS (if you use bombs on CD), and rocket boots are incredibly useful on most hard modes.

Your theoretical DPS in Exemplar's sheet: 11752
Your latest Festergut: 11564.7

You are basically operating near your theoretical average DPS. Not having TAJ is really hurting you. It's damn near impossible to get top parses without it. D:

Have you tried out CLCRet yet?

Your parses look reasonable for not having TAJ. That trinket alone is worth ~1200 DPS so it's damn near impossible to get top parses without it. D:

wtb...about 300dps for me!

Haven't been able to get any new parses recently, were trying for another 10 man today so hopefully that will go. Didn't pug this week as we managed a 25 man with some hardmodes last week but with more and more people leaving it's become near impossible to field a raid.

Realize it has been serveral weeks since my last update, but with the need for a ret paladin on your forums I would like to inquire what I need to do to my app / gear to make the next step here.

Sure, we'll take a second look at your application if you can post an updated armory link and recent logs.
